Some of my blogging buddies have started a paint party on Friday. So I decided to jump right in. I’ve already visited and I am amazed at all the beautiful art that is showcased here. What a group of talented artists, so if you haven’t gone why not hop over and take a peek, better yet, hop...right in. paintpartyfriday.blogspot.com
I paint big, medium and small but miniatures are one of my favorite things. There is something about working with a giant magnifying glass to add detail that just excites me. So I will continue until my eyes give out.
I figured I would add my little miniature of a bunny. My daughter discovered him all alone on a country road and brought him home. He was so cute, but a bit wild so we set him free in my backyard. That was last fall. There are tons of bunnies living in the woods behind my house and every time I see one of them hopping around I wonder…is it bunny? I’d like to think so.
He is so cute, I love this little guy. I did not see your link over at the party, you should go add it so others can find you.
ReplyDeleteSuper beautiful..and what a wonderful story behind the art!! Awesome. Such a gentle and beautiful piece..I want to reach in and cuddle with this gentle spirit! Shine on

Hi
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet story, I bet he is one of the bunnies running free behind your house. I continue to love your art...do you really use a magnifying glass? that's soo cool! have a great friday crystal!!!
Too cute! I would like to think it was bunny also. :)
ReplyDeleteI always wondered how people got so much detail in the teeny tiny pieces of art. I couldn't imagine trying to paint under a magnifying glass. Great job, I love bunnies!
Oh how sweet. I love bunnies and this one is just waiting to be taken home. Very nicely done. Thanks, enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteDarling bunny!
ReplyDeleteI like the miniatures also as they give me a chance to try different mediums and styles in a small format. Magnifying glass is a MUST!!!!
I can't get-over all the cuteness I'm finding from all the Paint Party folks! I think this one takes the cake though. :-) Who doesn't love a bunny???
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet little bunny! :D
ReplyDeleteI love the story behind this piece and how well you have captured the cuteness of these little critters. My grandma always said 'the devil's in the details' but I am like you, I just love adding them in.
ReplyDeleteHow miniature is miniature? The detail here. If i were trying to capture all that detail it would have to be the size of a house LOL! I'm amazed by the talent in all the PPF blogs.
ReplyDeleteThis little guy is just to adorable for words Crystal...how precious~~~
ReplyDeleteWhat a job! but I have been perfect. Greeting
ReplyDeleteI love the story and I love the aceo! Very cute Crystal!
ReplyDeleteAwwwww....your rabbit is SO amazing. I want to sit right down and cuddle it. hee :) Nice job!
ReplyDeleteHow adorable. I want to pick him up and pet him he's that cute. What a great ACEO. If I ever get tired of working with pmc I might try my hand at painting and drawing tiny little pictures. You've inspired me.
ReplyDeletesuch a cutie!
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute! I am always amazed at miniature art - I like to paint big (I'm most comfortable painting a full size wall mural!)

Hi Crystal. I've been thoroughly enjoying reading your blog. You are too funny.
ReplyDeleteBunny is very sweet, and I hope he's the proud papa (or mama, if he's a she) of all those bunnies living near you.
I had the name problem too and ended up reverting back to my maiden name - Roban to paint under.
It's so nice to meet you through PPF, and thanks for stopping by to visit me, :-)
He is so sweet and I love the style you used in this piece with the background almost enbracing him- to me, it really illustrates the "wildness" of him. I hope that makes some kind of sense!
ReplyDeleteThanks also for sharing the background story- wonderful!
Happy PPF (a day late:))
Wow, painting uder a magnifying glass must take some patience and skill. Love the bunny and just how small is it? Enjoying PPF.
ReplyDeleteFor those who have asked the question of how small it is. Well, to answer, the bunny was tiny just a handful and I think he was a boy, because he had that bunny boy attitude. The painting is the usual 2 1/2" x 3 1/2 " ACEO. I use a magnifying glass to get detail when I am working very small. It really is not that hard to do. Thanks for all your comments! :-)

Hi, love this bunny...great to meet you..
ReplyDeleteCute bunny and awesome horses! I feel you-I just officially added my husband's name, but kept my family name as well because they deserve credit too! You have quite a lot of talent painting animals---looking forward to seeing more :)
ReplyDeleteHe looks so soft, I can almost feel him...Bravo!
ReplyDeleteCute Story & adorable painting!
ReplyDeleteCute, cute, cute....sorry I'm so late in stopping by...but I enjoyed this work. Is it done in pastel pencil?
