My Mary's first Christmas sock |
I admit it. I love Christmas and decorate two large trees and two small ones. I even have a special little tree for my dog. Unfortunately this Christmas, I spent most of it pretty sick. Since I am on that road to recovery at the moment, I think I will hang on to Christmas just for a few more days. So I’m not putting away my mistletoe and holly just yet. Actually wouldn’t it be a wonderful world if we all kept Christmas (if only in our hearts) just a little bit longer? So the question I pose to you today is… I wonder…what is your favorite Christmas ornament?
As for me well, I love my Hallmark moving and lighted ornaments. I adore my many White house ornaments. I grin like a child when I pull out those delicate but oh so breakable glass ornaments. I play the musical ones over and over again. I smile with nostalgia when I add my homemade ornaments, one from each year. But the biggest thrill of all is when I add the sock my daughter wore on her very first Christmas that has hung on the tree for…um let’s just say a lot of years.
We all have a favorite so tell me dear friends what remains your favorite of favorites?
I am starting to feel semi-human again and although I have been absent of late, hopefully in this New Year I will visit, with you all often.
Crystal
Happy New Year Crystal. I am glad you are feeling better. What an adorable sock. I don't think I have any favourite Christmas things here, but I will treasure the memory of my kids getting the Christmas tree this year. I saw them coming out of the forest my son (8) carried the axe and saw, while my daughter (6) drag a tree behind her. It is a rather long scraggy tree but to me it is one of the best we have had :)
ReplyDeleteLove your sock ornament! Glad you are feeling a bit better! Valerie

Glad you are starting to feel better! My favorite ornament is a red, white, & blue round ball that hung on our tree when I was a child. Each year it gets a special spot on our tree.
ReplyDeleteHello Crystal ;o) Happy New Year! Glad you are feeling better ;o) I love your ornament. How special, your daughter's Christmas sock ;o) My favorite ornament, is actually not an ornament, but a little baby Jesus, my mom has always put out, since before I was born. It's over 50 years old now. It's so special to me, because it has always been there ;o) Hugs ;o)
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Crystal!!!! love this post....I have so many ornaments that are my favorite....I will have to really think about it!!!!
ReplyDeleteWishing you all the best in 2012!!! Health, Happiness and Success!!!
I don't have a single favorite ornament although I do have a favorite collection of ornaments. I have about a dozen ornaments that are small gold frames of different shapes and sizes with pictures of my children, grandchildren and nieces and nephews when they were very young. Each frame has a red ribbon to tie it onto the tree. Just looking at those beautiful little faces brings me the most wonderful memories. I'm glad to hear you're feeling better. Hugs
ReplyDeleteGlad you're feeling better. My favorite ornament is one I painted when I was ten. It's a ceramic angel with my childish signature on the back.
