The other day I noticed that my son was eating each item on
his plate one at a time. So that
is when I took a look at my own method of eating and I realized that I take
turns. I eat one item and then go
on to another. (Not at the same
time of course, we’ve already discussed that) There is an order to the way I eat. I work around my plate in a clockwise
motion. My son, on the other hand,
while still in an orderly fashion, will completely finish an item before he
takes a bite of the anything else.
And he saves his favorite for last. Now what do you think both our styles of eating say about
us?
While we are talking about eating styles, how do you eat
your corn on the cob? Do you eat
across like a typewriter? Or do
you work completely around starting at one end and finishing at the other? Or…. are you like me, a haphazard corn gobbler,
biting from wherever the mood hits?
I always save the best bite for last! (which means sampling and careful planning, often working around the last bite)! I take my food very seriously! Ha!

I don't know whether it signifies chaos or order - or orderly chaos? - but I really love all-in-one meals where everything is mixed together, stir fries, risottos, hotpots and of course, my all-mixed-up-together healthy salads, such as tuna, apple and celery in mayonnaise! One of my favourites is called 'American Salad' - green beans, sweetcorn, peppers, mushrooms, olives, onions, tomatoes, all tossed in an oil and vinegar dressing (Have lost 9 lb in 9 weeks!)
ReplyDeleteI thinkg that I eat a few spoonfulls of each item alternating around the plate. But never mix items together in one bite! What does that say about me! Sequential order?? Fun post!
ReplyDeleteThis is interesting! I think I take bites out of everything and eat them together. Typewriter corn eater I guess.
ReplyDeleteI tend to eat whatever cools off really fast first. But on the whole I am a little of this and a little of that, one at a time. I eat my corn on the cob like a typewriter and generally don't mix my food if it's not already mixed (like in a casserole or stew). I always save the best for last--dessert!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI eat corn 'around' but not in an orderly way! my food gets mixed,
ReplyDeletevegi's with- meat or 'tato- :)
I've never given it any thought so I'm not sure if I have a style of eating. I do know that I eat an ear of corn from side to side. Fun post!
ReplyDeleteI eat like your son ;o) Saving the best till last ;o) I eat my cob on the corn completely around.
ReplyDeleteI meant to say, I eat my corn on the cob completely around! LOL!
