Paint Party Friday

Some of my blogging buddies have started a paint party on Friday.  So I decided to jump right in.  I’ve already visited and I am amazed at all the beautiful art that is showcased here.  What a group of talented artists, so if you haven’t gone why not hop over and take a peek, better yet, hop...right in.  paintpartyfriday.blogspot.com

I paint big, medium and small but miniatures are one of my favorite things.  There is something about working with a giant magnifying glass to add detail that just excites me.  So I will continue until my eyes give out.

I figured I would add my little miniature of a bunny.  My daughter discovered him all alone on a country road and brought him home. He was so cute, but a bit wild so we set him free in my backyard.  That was last fall.  There are tons of bunnies living in the woods behind my house and every time I see one of them hopping around I wonder…is it bunny? I’d like to think so.

Hi
What a sweet story, I bet he is one of the bunnies running free behind your house. I continue to love your art...do you really use a magnifying glass? that's soo cool! have a great friday crystal!!!

Too cute! I would like to think it was bunny also. :)

I always wondered how people got so much detail in the teeny tiny pieces of art. I couldn't imagine trying to paint under a magnifying glass. Great job, I love bunnies!

Darling bunny!

I like the miniatures also as they give me a chance to try different mediums and styles in a small format. Magnifying glass is a MUST!!!!

I can't get-over all the cuteness I'm finding from all the Paint Party folks! I think this one takes the cake though. :-) Who doesn't love a bunny???

I love the story behind this piece and how well you have captured the cuteness of these little critters. My grandma always said 'the devil's in the details' but I am like you, I just love adding them in.

How miniature is miniature? The detail here. If i were trying to capture all that detail it would have to be the size of a house LOL! I'm amazed by the talent in all the PPF blogs.

How adorable. I want to pick him up and pet him he's that cute. What a great ACEO. If I ever get tired of working with pmc I might try my hand at painting and drawing tiny little pictures. You've inspired me.

This is so cute! I am always amazed at miniature art - I like to paint big (I'm most comfortable painting a full size wall mural!)

Thank you so much for joining the party!

Hi Crystal. I've been thoroughly enjoying reading your blog. You are too funny.

Bunny is very sweet, and I hope he's the proud papa (or mama, if he's a she) of all those bunnies living near you.

I had the name problem too and ended up reverting back to my maiden name - Roban to paint under.

It's so nice to meet you through PPF, and thanks for stopping by to visit me, :-)

He is so sweet and I love the style you used in this piece with the background almost enbracing him- to me, it really illustrates the "wildness" of him. I hope that makes some kind of sense!
Thanks also for sharing the background story- wonderful!
Happy PPF (a day late:))

Wow, painting uder a magnifying glass must take some patience and skill. Love the bunny and just how small is it? Enjoying PPF.

Crystal said...

For those who have asked the question of how small it is. Well, to answer, the bunny was tiny just a handful and I think he was a boy, because he had that bunny boy attitude. The painting is the usual 2 1/2" x 3 1/2 " ACEO. I use a magnifying glass to get detail when I am working very small. It really is not that hard to do. Thanks for all your comments! :-)
